Disney World 2003

When I was younger, my Mom would take me and my brother to Florida every year for our spring break (the week before Easter). My Grandma and other relatives joined us for many years too, and we all loved our Florida trips. We'd sometimes include a Disney journey in the mix, much to the delight of Grandma and of me! I love Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I was not healthy enough to travel to Disney World for a lot of years, so it was extra special to visit again with my Mom. Here is my trip story with lots of fun photos!

Florida...at last!

As we crossed the border into the state of Florida, I said, "Yes!!" Florida at last!

I remembered that the Florida Welcome Center serves fresh Florida orange juice. So, I definitely had to stop there for a cup of juice.

Our Amazing Hotel!

We stayed at Disney's All Star Music Resort. It's amazing! They have 1920 units, split up into 10 buildings with special names and themes. We were in the Jazz Inn with jazzy decor. Very cool! The All-Star Music Resort has Mickey Mouse everywhere (even on the soap!), Disney music piped into the stair wells, and a great central court area with a food court, two swimming pools, and a gift shop. Very, very cool!

This was at the end of our Jazz Inn building. I called it Blue Man.

Day 1: Epcot Center

Epcot Center is one of my favorite places because it has great culture and neat science exhibits all in one place. I love the Living Seas which has the largest salt water aquarium in the world. I also enjoy The Land pavilion, where you can tour some neat research gardens and just enjoy learning about agriculture. (The Land is also just an attractive building inside. See balloons, below left.)

Day 2: Clearwater Beach

Our Florida trips of long ago always included a stay at Clearwater Beach. My body doesn't tolerate beach weather anymore, but we did visit the beach for an hour and had fun visiting relatives in the area. I took pictures (like the one at the right) and picked a seashell out of the Gulf of Mexico.

Day 3, Part I: Mini-Golf

We got a free round of miniature golf at Mickey's WinterSummerland Golf Course. We did the Winter course, and my Mom pulled off a surprise upset win there! Go Mom! We both actually shot under par. You go girls!

Day 3, Part II: Magic Kingdom!!!

A Disney trip doesn't quite feel like a Disney trip (for me, anyway) without a visit to the Magic Kingdom and a Mickey sighting! I got both in one day and had a blast.

I told my Mom that I wanted to "Go to Disney World and park in the Goofy lot." She said in her Mom tone, "We have to park where they tell us to." Well, they told us to park in the 60th and last row of Goofy!!! Yay!!

Oh, there's Mickey! And Donald and Goofy and Minnie and Pluto!!

If you want to see me grin brightly, just have one of the Disney characters appear before me! It didn't quite sink in that I was actually at Disney World until I saw these guys. And then...I nearly cried!!

  Classics at Disney

"It's a Small World" and oodles of Disney toys are perennial favorites at Walt Disney World. I bought a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal!
  Rain can't spoil the fun!

Heavy rains and long lines kept me from going on the Dumbo ride, but I got a new Mickey Mouse poncho and continued to enjoy the day.

My time at Disney ended by sharing a bench with the bronze statue of Walt Disney and Minnie Mouse.

A great trip!
