My
First Apartment
I
moved into my first apartment in the summer of 2004. My health was
cooperating (at long last), and I was finished with grad school
and ready to embark on this new adventure. It has been fantastic!
Here is a bit of a tour of my place and some of my favorite photos.

| A
Few of my Favorite Things
One
of my favorite things about my apartment is that, everywhere I look,
I see something that someone has given to me. My parents gave me
some key pieces of furniture, and other friends sent purple bath
mats from overseas and a great Mickey Mouse colander. During the
first weeks in my apartment, I often came home to such neat housewarming
treasures that had arrived in the mail! Here are a few photos of
some of the items that help make my place feel like home.
|
| My
great-aunt gave me her table and chairs, and then two of my Mom's
cousins sent table cloths for it -- one handmade table cloth in
a fall harvest theme, and one plaid table cloth in a spring theme!

| The
frog is a gift from a dear family friend who said that if I am ever
talking to myself in my apartment and feeling weird about that,
I can just say, "Hey, I was talking to the frog!" And
the beautiful wall hanging was made for me by one of my friends
who I met in college.

| And,
here's a silly photo of me not long after I moved into my place. :-) |
