| 2001. After searching the internet for 12x20 film, I found only three manufacturers. Ilford, Bergger, and a German brand with no USA outlet. Since I shoot a lot of Ilford anyway, and the German film would have to be ordered from Germany, I opted for the Ilford. Mine was the last box at Darkroom Innovations in Arizona (I'm sure they have more now), and with shipping, cost over $200.00 for twenty five sheets. At $8.20 a shot, I plan on being very selective. |
| I picked up an old wooden Birns & Sawyer movie camera tripod for $75.00. It was equipped with a heavy, fluid head, but the tripod itself had a large built-in ball. I fashioned a plate to mount on top of the ball, and bolted the camera directly to the top. The tripod is sturdy and the ball head allows for enough movement for most shooting. In order to actually take this thing anywhere, I load the entire kit onto an old two-wheeled golf-bag carrier that I bought at a yard sale for $2.00. |
