This spring I have been going out into the Croatan National Forest and painting en plein air. These pocosins (which means "pond on a hill") are found in several places along the Patsy Pond trail in Carteret County. It is such a joy to spend hours admiring them and splashing watercolor on thick rich handmade paper from India.

Below is a snapshot one of my fellow artists took as I was working. With these large sheets of handmade paper from India, I roll up the paper, hike out to our spot, tie a clothesline between two trees and clothespin the paper to the line. It works great!
