Salembey Great Danes was founded in 1985 by Ted Salame and David Brown. The name "Salembey" was a family name and
means"The Governor". This name has been carried on to the kennel and will continue to be used by all Great Danes
in our breeding programs.
All our dogs are raised in our home and not a kennel. We believe that these animals are an addition to ones household
and should be given the opportunity to reach thier maximum potential by being a part of a family and not being kept outdoors
or ever lacking the warmth and comfort of a family setting.
Our goal is to provide family's with healthy, happy, well tempered and long living additions to thier lives. Selective
breedings and research for over 18 years has produced everything we have worked for.
Wilhelmina and James Assell of "Winjamer"Great Danes and thier daughter Colleen Assell-Carra of "Temira"
Great Danes have contributed greatly in our pedigree and continue to co-own in our line. "Ashton"(Ch. Calico Rock's
Luv of Temira) was owned and loved by Colleen and remains an integral and important part of our beeding program.
We are very thankfull for the help and guidance of Anita Langevin of "Reanns Great Danes" who has advised and
shared her years of experience and lines. Mrs. Langevin had retired from our breed in 1999 but has now re-entered the breed
with "Aramis"(Salembey's Gatekeeper of Reanns) who is her companion and promising young show dog to continue her
legacy.
Joanne Cantin of "Joana Great Danes" of Canada has joined the family with Tina Turcotte of "SwenTina Great
Danes and Labradors" and both co-own "Winnie". We are gratefull to Joanne for her guidance and share her belief
that a enormous amount of research must be done in planning a breeding to ensure years of healthly and happy animals.
Dianne Plamondon of "Dicar Great Danes" has been added to our family with Tess and Faith. Dianne is a seasoned
handler that expertly presented "Krona"(BISS Am.Ca.Ch Reanns Krown Jewel), Canada's #1 Great Dane of 1994 and 1995.
We admire her commitment to animal rescue in Northern Ontario and is one of the most dedicated and loving people who advocates
for all God's living creatures.
Also added to our family is Robin Liner of Massachusetts who owns "Destany" and Barbara Reiner who shares the
northern wilderness of Wisconsin with"Seigfreid".
All people named are loving and experienced Great Dane owners who are providing quality homes and fertile settings for
what looks to be a defining moment in our goals.
A family consists of many and all members contribute to the health and welfare of our dogs. We are thankfull for this
and we look forward to the years ahead.
