Scott McCarthy's legal name is Cornelius Ian McCarthy but he is commonly known as "Scott" McCarthy, a nickname given to him by a teacher in his senior year of high school when he was in the school play. Apparently that is not the only permanent impact that St. Anthony's had on him as he later became a priest. He is currently serving at St. Francis Xavier parish in Seaside, CA (near Monterey).

Father Scott has authored 2 books which are readily available for anyone who is interested in obtaining them: Celebrating the Earth is about ecology and spirituality and People of the Circle, People of the Four Directions is about the spiritual symbolism of native American Indians.
