·         Responsible for developing the HTML Style Guide for SpaceWorks’ B2B e-business application.  Tasks include: developing user interface templates, analyzing existing user interfaces and analyzing competing product user interfaces. The completed guide was used by all UI developers to standardize web page format.

 

·         Designed and developed all user interfaces to support the search enhancements and products attributes functions of the software application.  This enhancement required more than 40 screens to be designed using HTML to show product searching, product attributes, and product comparisons.

 

·         Reviewed all existing product user interfaces for usability problems.  Analyzed over 300 interfaces for problems in usability or inconsistent design.  Worked with quality assurance to develop a more consistent and useable structure for the product.

 

8/00 – 11/00            Lead User Interface Engineer - DataZen, Herndon, VA

 

·         Designed and developed all user interfaces for the telecommunication-marketing products.  These products generated leads for telecommunication-marketing professions.

·         Worked with users to redesign the GUI for a business process automation tool. Responsibilities included: user profiles, task analysis, user requirements, graphical user interface (GUI) design, system reviews, competitive analysis, usability testing, software development and integration. Evaluated help system tools (RoboHelp and Java Help). Developed front end windows using Java Swing for the flow builder tool.  Develop tools to allow HTML front end to be generated from XML files.

·         Designed the GUI’s for a tool on the AT&T Customer Care Platform.  Responsibilities included task analysis, user requirements, graphical user interface (GUI) design, system reviews, software development and integration.  Product developed using Motif with C++ and Neuron Data for HP/UX computers.

 

6/97 – 2/98            Principal GUI Engineer - Comsat RSI Plexsys Wireless Systems, Herndon, VA

 

·         Lead developer responsible for the design, development, and direction of a GUI for a TDMA wireless call-processing switch. GUI developed in MS Windows using MS Visual C++.

 

9/95 – 5/97            Principal GUI Engineer - Comsearch, Reston, VA

 

·         Designed and developed GUIs (C++ and Motif/UNIX) for all of the company’s wireless telecommunication analysis tools. Restructured the software development process to be user centered. Additional responsibilities included the development of a Questionnaire for User Interface Satisfaction of the telecommunications tools, design of the company’s web site, and competitive analysis.

 

9/82 – 9/95            Senior Software for various DoD contractors – (E-Systems, UNISYS, Vitro Laboratories)

 

·         Lead user interface engineer responsible for designing and developing more than 80 X Window GUIs for an Electronic Warfare simulation environment. Responsible for the direction of the system software architecture and human interface direction.  Implemented user interfaces in C++, C, X Windows (OSF/Motif/UNIX) and ORACLE. Additional responsibilities include developing human interface specifications and conducting usability tests. TS/SI security clearance granted by DISCO 9/90.
