WHO IS RYAL HAAKENSON?

Chapter 4 - Retirement Years

"Hollywood" 1992-1994

Comedy-Drama LogoAfter enjoying the Christmas season in 1991 and joining a health club where I started working out every morning, I finally decided it was time to go back to work. In February of 1992 I started working part time as a movie and television extra. This kept me busy until I stopped doing it in August of 1994. For a detailed account of my experiences, click here to access "Experiences of a Hollywood Extra", a book I have written about my working as an extra.

True Retirement 1994-Present

Autumn Picture During my career in computer software I was just beginning to get involved with PC's, so most of what I've learned is in my retirement years. I bought a PC in May of 1994 and got on line in October. I've spent a lot of time learning about what's out there on the Internet and teaching myself HTML so I can create these web pages. Much of 1995 I was glued to the TV watching the OJ Simpson trial. Much of 1996 was spent writing the book "Experiences of a Hollywood Extra" which is on this web site. I have given up getting the book published but am quite satisfied having here it as part of my web site. I have good intentions to start playing golf again and perhaps senior softball, but haven't yet. I haven't played competitive softball since my days with SDC in Virginia, although I did play in a slow pitch co-ed league at SCE. I hope to improve my skills at HTML and continue to create web sites. I've also used my time to make contact with old friends that I haven't communicated with in years.
