RULES FOR TEACHERS

1. You will not marry for the term of your contract.

2. You are not to keep company with men.

3. You must be home between the hours of 8 p. m. and 6 a. m.

unless attending a school function.

4. You may not loiter downtown in ice cream stores.

5. You may not travel beyond the city limits unless you have

the permission of the chairman of the board.

6. You may not ride in a carriage or automobile with any man

unless he is your father or brother.

7. You may not smoke cigarettes.

8. You may not dress in bright colors.

9. You may under no circumstances dye your hair.

10. You must ware at least two petticoats.

11. Your dress must not be any shorter than two inches above

your ankle.

12. To keep the school room neat and clean you must: sweep

the floor at least once daily, scrub the floor at least once a

week with hot soapy water, clean the blackboards at least

once a day, and start the fire at 7 a. m. so the room will be

warm by 8 a. m.

4. What are the Principal Parts of a verb? Give Principal Parts of do, lie,
lay, and
run.
5. Define Case, Illustrate each Case.
6. What is Punctuation? Give rules for principal marks of Punctuation.
7 - 10. Write a compostion of about 150 words and show therein that you
understand
the practical use of the rules of grammar.

Arithmetic (Time, 1.25 hours)

1. Name and define the Fundamental Rules of Arithmetic.
2. A wagon box is 2 ft. deep, 10 feet long, and 3 feet wide. How many
bushels of
wheat will it hold?
3. If a load of wheat weighs 3942 lbs., what is it worth at 50 cts. per bu.,
deducting
1050 lbs. for tare?
4. District No. 33 has a valuation of $35,000. What is the necessary levy
to carry on
a school seven months at $50 per month, and have $104 for incidentals?
5. Find cost of 6720 lbs. coal at $6.00 per ton.
