Grandma Jo's Soup Kettle

Unstuffed Cabbage Soup, p. 144 (one of my favorites) Chicken Stew with Bacon Dumplings, p. 130 ([Here is one] that I have on my spreadsheet that we really liked. . . . If you want a stew, this is one that we have had several times.) Scroll down after clicking on this link to see: Chicken Burrito Soup, p. 122 (Scroll down even further in same link to see serving sizes.) (If you would like to try something new but sort of hesitated . . . try [this]. BELIEVE me you won't be sorry. Picky son had two bowls. Had to make a double batch; next time will make triple batch. Its one of those that is so flavorful you won't be able to stop eating it. YUMM! Its so good. Rated 10.) (You are so right. I made it for lunch. Oh my goodness, it is so good. My whole family loved it. I made a double batch and made a mistake by adding 2 16-ounce cans of stewed tomatoes instead of one. The recipe calls for an 8 ounce can, but I didn't see the 8 oz until it was too late. I guess it didn't matter, because the soup is delicious. We're having the rest for supper. Yummm.) (I have made this soup and it is very good. You should give it a try.) (This soup is soooo good. It's a weekly meal at our house. A loaf of Italian bread and this soup makes a wonderful supper.) (This is a great recipe!) ([one of] the "most favorite" of my favorites) Stormy Weather Bean Soup, p. 178 (m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m) Tuna Noodle Chowder, p. 109 (I had this for lunch today. It is comfort food! If you like tuna noodle casserole - you will like this. . . . I cooked the noodles before I added the rest of ingredients though & was glad I did, as it is real thick until the milk is added. I will make this again.) Creamy Chicken and Celery Soup, p. 118 (***** This soup really hit the spot today. It is around 27 deg. F today, so this soup really hit the spot. We served it with soda crackers, Whole Wheat Bread (I Got The Machine, p. 11), toasted, and 1 serving Carrot-Pineapple Salad (Grandma's Comfort Food, p. 81). Great meal!) (We loved this so well, we had it several times this month. This is an awesome soup. Once when we had about 1/2 cup leftover rice, we added it; wow!) Scroll down after clicking on this link to see: Beef and Barley Soup, p. 156 (I put this in the crock pot this morning, and when I got home this afternoon, my house smelled so good, but the best part is, the soup tasted great! It calls for a can of tomatoes, chopped and drained, but I didn't have one, so I used Hunt's tomato sauce for soups and stews. I don't think that it is available anymore, so next time I will use the diced tomatoes in sauce instead. I didn't have frozen green beans either, so I put in some canned green beans, but otherwise followed the recipe. Great way to get in those veggies, and so nice on a cold day, so if you haven't given this one a try, you might want to soon.) (You might try this one. We really liked it.) (I recently found this recipe, and I also thought that is was very good. I doubled it the second time I made it, and froze some. It was really nice to come home and smell that cooking in the crockpot!) Turkey and Veggie Rice Soup, p. 136 (***** I found this recipe on either the message board or the group. After having this soup, can't wait for my book to arrive. The only change we did was add a pinch of Bell's.) Cheddar Broccoli Noodle Soup, p. 96 (***** Another great soup!) Tomato Corn Soup, p. 82 (I know there are lots of yummy soups around. Has anyone tried a good one lately they'd recommend? We have several inches of snow on the ground, and I need to make some soup for my lunches for the rest of the week. What have you been trying? . . . We . . . had [this]. We enjoyed [this] one also. The kids liked it with grilled cheese.)
