Ms. Tillis and Ms. Kiser were taken to Little Mexico for their birthdays. Unfortunately no pictures are available yet for this event. But it is my understanding that Ms. Tillis really like to shake those maracas.

Ms. Allen was also treated to a birthday luncheon. She turned 21(at least that is what she said) this month. She was able to shake her maracas at Little Mexico also with a large crowd from the Powledge Unit to enjoy the fun. Ms. Jones was treated to Mazzio’s pizza for her birthday. Her birthday photo was taken ... where she reminded us of MINNIE PEARL.

The gang from the Powledge Unit attended and had a great time. We think that she thougth Mazzios’ would be safe from the Birthday Song. Not so.

The Powledge Unit Christmas Party was held December 17th at the Coffield Club House. The planning committee was comprised of Ms. Dorsett - Unit Supply, Officer Alford - CO III First Shift, Mr. Williams - Unit Maintenance and Sgt Durham of Operational Review.

The clubhouse was decorated with pine garlands and candles and bright luminaries lined the porch. Everyone who came was asked to bring a covered dish. So there was plenty of great food for everyone to enjoy. And everyone knows the Powledge Unit has great cooks.

Various business around town and staff members donated door prizes.

Since the party was held at 6 p.m., the second shift staff was not forgotten. They were treated to a meat and cheese tray and were allotted chances for all the door prizes. The night would not be complete without a visit to Santa. (Santa’s lookalike was played by D. Tarrant- Investigator II) Santa brought children baskets of candies and goodies. Please remember the following business and staff for their donations, because without them doorprises would not be available: Walmart Stores and Warehouses, A-1 Bail Bonds, Subway, Lucky Puppy, Action Rent to Own, Sebastians’, Holiday House, Sherry’s, Practically Perfect, Watt’s Stationary, Moore’s Radiator Shop, Holiday Inn, Schullman Theaters, Carroll’s Automotive, Ramada Inn, Mattern Tire, Dollar Tree, Great American T-Shirt Company, J. C. Penny, Helig Meyers, Davis Furniture, Ace Hardware, The Austin House, Shep’s Barbecue, Erin Davis, Sgt. Dennis Carroll, Ms. Dorsett, Ms. Heaton, Ms. Brock, J. C. Penny, Beall’s, and Kwik Car.

Our very own Officer Robertson is the world Champion Oreo stacker. During the month of December he signed up at the Brookshires in Tyler. Never thinking that he would be chose as one of the few to represent the North Texas/South Oklahoma area. Eight contestants were chosen to be present at Texas Stadium during the half-time show of the Jets/Cowboys game. The contestants won a free trip to Dallas with all the frills. They enjoyed a tailgate party at Texas Stadium, Oreo Stacker sweatshirt, hotel stay and meal.

During the half time show the contestants were asked to stack as many Oreos as they could in a thirty second time frame. Officer Robertson won by stacking 24 Oreos in that time. For his stacking efforts Nabisco awarded him a $5000 Savings Bond.

Way to go Rob.
