Congratulations to COIV Kassandra Kearse on the arrival of her baby girl, Elessa Onyea, born June 30 and weighing in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long.

Congratulations also go out to Officer Robert Clifft on the birth of his son, Robert Ian, born on July 17 and weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces and also 19 1/2 inches long.

Congratulations to Michayel Smith on her new position in the Mailroom at the Hilltop Unit; to Dena Campos on her new job as Use of Force clerk at the Gatesville Unit; to Elisha Gaston in her new position in Inmate Records at the Gatesville Unit.

Recent promotions on the Murray Unit include Tommie Tabors as FSMII, Mary Ann Clark as disciplinary captain and Nancy Suson as tracking coordinator.

The Murray Unit welcomes the following new employees: Linda Humphries, Janie Allen, Elizabeth Copeland, Dortha Earley, Fleicia Lylees and Yana Williams.

Welcome also goes out to Keith Cook who transferred tour unit from the Briscoe Unit and Kay Peyton who transferred from Ramsey III and to our new Substance Abuse Counselor, Elizabeth Welcott.

Karla Reaves, academic GED teacher, is retiring after eight years with Windham. We wish you well on your retirement and we will miss you!

Lane Murray would like to extend sympathy to the following staff in the loss of their loved ones: Officer Joan Rushing in the loss of her brother; Officer Walerine Thomas in the loss of her brother-in-law; Officer Violet Deemer in the loss of her brother; Officer Catherine Loftin in the loss of her nephew; Officer Helen Limmer in the loss of her brother-in-law; and former Lane Murray Unit Maj. Judy Arnold in the loss of her husband.

Get well wishes go out to Officer Janice Wynn on her recent surgery and Lt. Beverley Wilkins in her recent hospital stay.

A speedy recovery also goes out to officers Kandria Tariz and Nocole Porrell.

Congratulations to Officer Shirley Shepherd on her marriage to Mack Dowell of Moody.

Warden Ament’s grandson., Clay, played for the 11- and 12-year-old All Star Team. Way to go, Clay! Warden Moya’s daughter, Courtney, played for the 9- and 10-year-old All Star Team and Brittany, daughter of Erin Blanchard, Counsel Substitute II, was on the 11- and 12-year-old All Star Team. Way to go, girls!
