News from the Hobby Unit includes lots of activity with folks coming
and going.
In the past couple of months, the following people have left Hobby for
greener pastures; some to other units and some to the private sector.
We wish them all good luck in their endeavors and hope they realize
that well all miss them.
Those leaving us are: Mr. Hill (2nd shift officer), Ms. Jobe (Necessities),
Mr. Tepera (2nd shift officer), Ms. Clapp (Inmate Records), Sgt. McCoy
(Field), and Ms. Jones (2nd shift officer).
Congratulations to Ms. Taylor who went to a new position as the Vocational
School Officer and to Ms. Gilbert, the new Education Dept. Officer.
Good luck to you both as you take over new duties.
Great news to share about promotions; Capt. Dirk Gray has promoted to
Telford Unit and will become Major Gray, and Sgt. Freeman has gone from
Building Sergeant to Field Sergeant.
Were proud of you and wish you both well in your new positions.
Well certainly miss Major Gray.
Hobby is proud to have received some new employees in the Maintenance
Department.
Welcome to Mr. Hogan, Mr. Stimmel, and Ms. Watson. We hope youll
enjoy working with us at the Hobby Unit and were glad youve
joined us!
The Special Olympics Fundraising Team has been busy with several activities
such as hamburger and hot dog lunches, the Fun Day, bake sales and they
are planning a car wash soon.
They have had a great success in their efforts and we appreciate all
their hard work. Keep it up guys ... thanks for all you do.
Thanks to all the Correctional Officers at the Hobby Unit and at other
units, too. You are the unsung heroes and you do not get enough recognition
for the work you do.
Those of us who work in other departments at the Hobby Unit appreciate
you and realize that without you our jobs would be hard to do.
Thanks for working with us. Together everyone achieves more.
