The PICKET is a monthly news magazine for employees of
the Texas corrections system. It is not a publication of the state of Texas,
rather it is an advertising-supported, private enterprise based in Gatesville,
Texas.
The PICKET began in November 1994 and has been in continuous
publication ever since. The tabloid-size, newsprint magazine (20-24 pages)
is distributed during the first week of each month.
The PICKET is available free to every correctional institution
and administrative office in the state, as well as a number of union locals,
universities, non-profit organizations and members of the Texas Legislature.
Mail Subscriptions
Individual mail subscriptions are available for your convenience for $18 a year to cover postage
and handling.

Wardens and department heads are invited to designate

Letters to the Editor
Readers are encouraged to submit letters for the Picket Opinions section on topics appropriate to the Texas corrections community. Letters must be signed and accompanied by a daytime phone number for verification. All letters published by the Picket will bear the letter writer's name, but not the phone number. The Picket editor reserves the right to choose letters for publication and may edit letters for length and content.

Technical Specifications
