A protracted Meeting commencing December 13 1851 was carried on by our pastor & Br John Skinner from Ohio which was continued near two weeks night and day which we have reason to believe was attended with the Blessing of God in causing nine willing converts to share to the world and a cloud of witnesses that they had found the _______________ of great price that the Lord was precious by following him in the watery tomb being buried with him in baptism and raised to walk with him in ___of life viz Zachariah Tanehill Jr. Naomey Hyatt Sarah Sanner Isabel Jenings Mary Jane Rush Susan Rush Mary Rush Zalmon Hyatt Ann Mc Neal all in the midst of youthful bloom. May they be shinning lights in the world filling those seats in Christ’s Church here on earth that has been vacated by Death of our fathers and mothers who have gone to ill their seat’s in the church triumphant in glory

Church met after Preaching by Br Lanham the church proceeded to Business.

Their being no special business before this church.

Resolved that we adjourn.

May 15th 1853

Church met after preaching by Br Lanham. The Church proceeded to business. 

Whereas Br Zalmon Hyatt is about to go from amongest us to school has requested a letter of recommendation that he may enjoy the privileges of the church where his lot may be cast.

Resolved that the pastor inquire into a difficulty existing between him and his parents and if adjusted to send him a letter without delay.

In view of the importance of the Sabbath school institution.

Resolved that this Church into an organization of a union Sabbath School at Draketown and for the purpose of carrying out this Resolution that there be a subscription taken up to raise funds to obtain a library.

Resolved that we adjourn to meet in June.
 

At protracted meating closed on the 5th of June conducted by Br Lanham. Pastor of the Church. At the close of the same Br John McMillin, Sister Hily Mountain, Sarah Ream, Sarah Colborn, Mary Jane Coonts, Ruby Hanna gave in Letters of admission to unite their membership with this Church and was all unanimously received.

Susan Ream made it known to the church that it was her desire to unite her membership with us and was restored into full fellowship with this Church.

Church met after preaching

 

1st Appointed Br John Williams, Moderator

2nd Br Michael Daly & Eli Tanehill was appointed as a committee to cite Br. Thomas Ream to appear before the Church at its next regular meeting to answer for improper Conduct which is calculated to wound the cause of Christ.

Resolved that we adjourn to meat on Saturday before the third ____ ____ in November.

 

November 18 1854

Church met for business

1st Appointed Michael Baly, moderator

The committee in the case of Thomas Ream was called in for report. Thomas Ream appears before the church after an investigation of the charges. He made acknowledgment of the charges which was received by the church.

He also offered his resignation of trustee of the Church property which was received. So that he ;is no more trustee.

Resolved that we adjourn in December.

Saturday Dec 16 1854

Church met for business aft preaching

1st Appointed Br . ___Ellis standing ;moderator during his call as pastor of this ;church.

2nd Resolved that Br . John Brook be appointed trustee of the property belonging to the Church in the Place of Thomas Ream resigned

Resolved that we adjourn to meet in January

Saturday January 20 1855

Church met for Business after preaching

1st A committee was appointed viz Wm Rush, John Brook, Jacob H. Rush to take up subscriptions to rase funds viz 125 dollars for the support of our pastor on missionary half his time in the Bounds of this Church.

__ Brothers Dr. Jacob Rush requests letters of Dismission for himself, his wife also Zalmon C. Rush, Jacob W. Rush & Janice Yunken requested letters as they were about to move out of our bounds to the far west.

Resolved they have letters of dismission to unite with a sister Church of the same faith ___

Resolved that we invite Br John_____ to assist Br Ellis to have a meeting a few days commencing the fourth Sabbath in this month.

Resolve that we adjourn to meet in February

Abraham Colborn came before the Church for baptism & was unanimously received & was baptized on the first Sabbath in February.

Saturday March 17, 1855

Church met for business after preaching by Br Ellis.

Br Peter Rush requested letters of dimission for himself & Sarah Rush & Elizabeth Rush which was unanimously granted.

Resolved that we invite the_________ & members of Indian Creek & Crosings Churches to be with us at our communion in April. & that Br. Michel Baley & Jacob H. Rush be a committee to invite them to be with us.
