Five members of the Moore County Pony Club attended the Carolina Region Tetrathalon Rally at Sedgefield
Showgrounds in Greensboro this past weekend. A tetrathalon competition consists of 4 phases: riding a course of
10-12 fences with two obstacles: a gate and a sliprail; swimming; running and shooting. Here are our hard-earned
results:
Intermediate Girls
Kenna finished first in her division with blues in shooting and riding.
Maggie finished second in her division with a blue in swimming and a clear jumping round.
Elle finished third in her division with a clear jumping round and an impressive running finish
a mere 48 seconds below the optimum time.
Beginner Girls
Kate finished fifth in a tough beginner girls division turning in the highest Moore
County shooting score of the rally and bringing home a third place in swimming.
Elizabeth finished third in the same tough division with a second place running finish and a near-perfect
riding score.
Moore County's most proud moment came however, in Horse Management. The combined division team tied
for third place out of ten teams behind only Eno Horsemasters and a senior team. Congratulations to all our Tet competitors.
Triad PC will host the rally again in 2010 and anyone interested in competing will be glad to know that
the girls agreed Tet is one of the most fun rallies of the year!
