March of Opposing Forces pastel ..... 11" x 14" Seeing all the new building of houses in the Central Valley, I was sure this empty field was next, then the farmer planted these fruit trees! Farmers put white protectors around the base of new trees. This protects the tree from wind and other stresses. I was so happy to see the new orchard. It looks like two armies facing off. I made the houses look like monopoly box houses on purpose. Today the trees are full grown almond trees and from this angle you can't even see the houses. I guess the orchard won .... so far.

The Maternity Ward pastels ... 8" x 10"   These poor ladies were about ready to give birth and looked quite miserable. Also available as a note card

Walnuts, Meet the Blue Gums pastels 16" x 26" This field was planted many years by the father of a friend of mine. On the left you see blue gum trees and a walnut grove on the right with a dirt road running between them. I thought the contrast was interesting.
