The Art of Folding Paper
I spent over 10 years teaching 7th grade World History.
One of my favorite units was Feudal Japan.
I grew to love the customs, art and crafts of Japan.
I taught my students how to fold many origami shapes
and one of my favorite was the Paper Crane.
It is said that a person will have a wish
if they fold 1,000 paper cranes.

I am working on my 1,000 cranes

The Paper Crane is
• an international symbol of Peace
• given as a wish for good health
• given as a wish for good luck at a wedding

Come see me in my booth at the
Lodi Sandhill Crane Festival
November 7 & 8

Come get your crane while supplies last!

Paper Cranes

My paper origami cranes are folded with beautiful Washi hand made and hand screened papers
and other beautiful Japanese papers. I often add antique beads and other embellishments.
These beautiful Japanese papers are getting more difficult to find as the old master papermakers are passing away.
I purchase many of my papers directly from Japan.

The Story of the Paper Crane comes with each purchase of my cranes.
.

My paper crane earrings are hand folded from 1.5" square Japanese papers using tweezers! It has taken me a lot of practice to get them right! The cranes are then varnished twice for strength and durability and assembled using beads and gold or silver plated ear wires.
4" paper cranes with my signature flying Ace ribbon scarf. These papers are so beautiful, little more embellishment is necessary!

Be sure you get your crane pin to wear at the Sandhill Crane Festival!

My 6" hanging cranes are embellished with beads (many are antique and vintage beads) which sparkle with the light. I have added a flying ace "scarf", which is my signature feature.
Hang these cranes in a window, door way, or ceiling away from direct sunlight.
