Our case study business has grown considerably over the past 10 years. Management would like to know where the customers are coming from, and where to locate some new stores. The animated map below depicts customer distributions and how they have changed since 1988.
The map indicates that business in the northern portion of the county, while significant early, has not really grown that much. On the other hand, the eastern San Gabriel Valley area around Covina has grown quite substantially, especially over the past five years or so, and so have the Pasadena area northeast of Downtown, and the South Bay area below the current Fox Hills location. The next steps involve creating some maps of these potential areas that depict the relative nature and value of business generated, and how that is likely to change over the next 10 years -- especially with the addition of a store. Click here for an associated application of the data, in which we take a look at how the customer distributions around the Valley store in N. Hollywood differ by product.
