Role Playing covers a wide spectrum of topics and styles.
They cover all activities in which a participant pretends he or she is someone (or something) else.
The same thing any good actor does on television or in the movies.
If you are unfamiliar with Role Playing Games in general, check out our What's an RPG page.
The difference between the activities listed here is the level of seriousness or dedication and the duration of which the activity lasts.
Not to mention the cost or work necessary to be involved with the particular hobby.
The activities listed here are NOT all games, some are serious endeavors that our members are involved in.
We include them here to emphasize their similarity and to inform those role players who are not
aware of the range of role playing activities available to them.
The term RPG stands for Role Playing Game.
They are played on a table with a pencil, paper, dice and sometimes miniatures.
They require no physical activity other than rolling dice and don't cost much or take any effort.
It is a popular misconception (from ignorance and misunderstanding) that role playing is bad.
On the contrary, we will show that there are many types and all can enhance personal imagination and growth.
The term LARP stands for Live Action Role Playing game.
Most LARP's are played in campgrounds or hotels and will have a fictional Fantasy, Horror or Science Fiction based theme.
The players actually dress up and pretend to be the characters in the game itself.
As you visit each of these sections, we hope it will become clear to you that the entire hobby of role playing
contains many interesting and exciting activities.
That they are all valuable for learning and to developing useful social skills.
With the possible exception on Halloween, but who are we to say?!
