Historical RPG Background
Historical Role Playing Games games consist of themes in real or alternate reality lands.
Populated with people and things we are all familiar with.
You could be a soldier, robber, policeman, spy, gangster, pirate or gunfighter depending on the time period you select.
A game will usually center around a mission that the group of players must achieve.
Safeguarding a bank, stealing secret plans, catching the badguys or searching for ancient ruins
are always good story lines.
Many of the game worlds are based on written stories or popular movies.
If you have your own vision of what history might have been and want to see how others might react to
it, you can always create your own campaign and run a game yourself.

The games listed below provide the rules for creating characters, conducting movement and combat.
Some also provide aids to help construct the world in which the game takes place.
It is left up to the the gamemaster to create the situations and enemies the players encounter.
If you do not like the world that is created in the game then use your own.
Just use the rules to handle running the game, the game mechanics.
The best part of your playing is that it is only limited be your imagination and creativity.
If you lack the time or imagination to create a campaign world, most game manufacturers
also sell game suppliments or modules that are complete preplanned games.
