-******- Instoollation guide for StoolBotŪ by RottenTurd -******- Additional files you might want to get: 1. Stool.bat (put it on your desktop and double click it) 2. Config.cfg (it has commands bound for you already) Ok here's how to make the stool bot work: 1. Make a new directory in your Quake2 directory, let's call it "stool". If you use windows explorer open the quake2 folder and create a new folder. If you use DOS, type "cd\quake", then "md stool" 2. Put the zip file into the new directory and unzip it. If you use Winzip, extract the files to the new folder. If you use PKunzip, type "pkunzip stoolbot.zip" 3. Run Quake2 with the "+set game stool" parameter.(probably where you screwed up) In DOS, go to c:\quake2 and type "quake2 +set game stool" If you suck at DOS, it might be better to use the batch file (stool.bat). Put it on your desktop and double click it to start the game. You may need to edit it with a word processor if your new quake2 directory is not c:\quake2\stool. 4. Once in the game, when you start the level a quick message will pop up saying: "Type stoolhelp for a list of commands" or something like that. If it didn't then you might have to go back to Step 1 and make sure you did it all the same. If the message did come up, you've set it up right. Hit the ~ button (upper left corner of the keyboard). This brings up the console. You type commands in here. You should see the StoolHelp message that just disappeared. Go ahead and type "stoolhelp". It should show a list of commands. Type some of these and see what they do. Rather than typing these everytime you want to do something, it is better to BIND the commands to a key. This way you can just hit one key while your playing and it will automatically type the command. To bind a command type something like this at the console: bind p "stool" This will bind the "p" key to the stool command. You can do this for all the commands, but be sure not to overwrite Quake2's own keys (like the jump or shoot buttons). The config.cfg file has the commands prebound for you. Put config.cfg in your c:\quake2\stool directory (overwrite the old one).
