What is Live Empire Deluxe?
Live Empire Deluxe or LED is much like PBEM except that you play your opponent
live and see the action as it happens. A 40x60 game between 2 opponents can
take as little as 1 ½ hours up to 4 hours. There are three arenas of game
play for Empire Deluxe. They take place (1) on a single computer, (2) between
more than 1 computer/player by e-mail and (3) between more than 1
computer/player connected to each other in real time. Unfortunately most of
us don’t have a network in our house. Most networks are found in offices,
and you may get in trouble if your caught playing at work! And if you do
have a network in your house, your opponent must travel to your home to
play you. It would be nice to pick a player who lives anywhere and uses
almost any ISP to play a live game. Well, this is possible and has been
possible for several years. I have searched for many methods to play ED
live through the Internet (including KALI) and the only one I have found
that works is the com T and ICQ procedure. Concentric's games channel works
nicely, but your opponent must be a Concentric member. The com T & ICQ procedure
allows Non-Concentric players the ability to play Live ED and has become
the standard for The Live Empire Deluxe League.
