Grima Wormtongue
"I wanted him to have the look of a hunched, feral creature who was clothed
in finery but who never washed...With the addition of a high, ruched-velvet collar his neck seemed to disappear into his shoulders,
creating the illusion of humpbacked deformity."
-Ngila Dickson Making of the Movie Trilogy,

Easterling Helm*

At this stage, we were trying to establish very strong iconic
features for the Easterlings to differentiate them from the other armies, so one of the things that I played with was that
they used different metals in their armor – brass, bronze, coppers. The kind of metals that we haven’t seen a
lot of in the various other armies, together with new shapes. In this case, I thought it would be interesting to add a strong
geometric element to their design, so I used lots of squares and circles…they’re actually quite a rich culture,
and that each warrior wears the badges of his office and the wealth of his family all over him. They would festoon themselves
with either war trophies that they’ve taken off people they’ve killed or family heirlooms.
