This Ortenburger family web site explains the research that was performed on my Grandfather Wladyslaw Ortenburger, my Great Grandfather August Eduard Ortenburger, many other family members & the direct lineage back to the year 1548. I knew absolutely nothing about my Grandfather, William August Ortenburger when I started my research. Through the years of this research I met other Ortenburger family researchers: Christl Ortenburger in München, Germany, Karl August Horst Ortenburger in Lippstadt, Germany, Delores Semon in West Jordan, Utah & Marek Kociszewski in Weiz, Austria. And I found the first hand drawn Ortenburger family tree that was researched in 1937 by Kurt Ortenburger. Kurt researched the church books of Ludwigsthal, Schlesien for Ortenburger families who lived in Erdmannshain & Boronow, Schlesien.
