6 Movements of the Spine

1.  Arching Cat- yoga style spinal flexion, raising your spine between your shoulder blades arching your back, dropping your sacrum, and allowing your head to drop to the floor.

2.  Sway back horse- yoga style spinal extension, raising your head to look up, dropping your spine between your shoulder blades, softening your stomach to lower your lumbar spine and sticking your tail in the air.

3.  Table top- spinal lateral flexion, have your spine and head flat like a tabletop,  slowly move your hands in an arch to either side keeping your back flat and lengthening one side or the other, stretching that side from you shoulder girdle to hip area.

4.  Table top- with a top view. 

Be sure to go both directions.

5.  Spinal rotations- move one arm between the opposite side arm and leg, twist your spine reaching with your hand and rotating your head to look the direction your hand is reaching.

6.  Spinal rotation shown from opposite side.
