Sun Conure Chick

Sun Conures are one of the most popular pet birds, primarily for their spectacular plumage.  Full color does not begin to appear until after the first molt at approximately six months.  There are varying degrees of red appearing on the face and chest.  By nature Sun conures like to call out, mostly at dawn and dusk.  To reduce this, it is possible to train the bird to call or talk on cue.  They are highly intelligent birds, and behave best with a consistently stimulating owner.  Conures like to chew to keep their beak in good condition, so destrutible toys should always be offered.  A cage at least two feet wide is adequate for a single conure.

Sun Conures are not sexually dimorphic, therefore must be surgically or DNA sexed.  We can DNA sex a conure for a small nonrefundable fee.

Green Cheek Conures - Pineapple, Yellowsided

Green Cheeked Conures are smaller than Suns, and are often overlooked in the pet trade.  Green Cheeks are comparatively much quieter and are extremely playful and active.  They are often seen playing on their backs or acrobatically hanging from the cageroof.  We raise several color mutations plus normal that include yellow sided, cinnamon and Pineapple.  Although strikingly different in coloration, they all have similar behavior.
