As a group, the Forpus genera make up the smallest true parrot species. We raise Pacific Parrotlets, the most widely
known of the forpus family. We raise visual green, yellow and blue with pied pending. Parrotlets are suitable
as a first bird, but only to truly dedicated owners with good understanding of bird behavior.

Parrotlets are called 'the small bird with a large bird personality'. They are also nicknamed 'Pocket Parrots'
because of the proclivity to nestle, especially at a young age. These active pets are best behaved when housed singly
in the largest cage affordable with plenty of playtoys. Some parrotlets are known to learn a few words or phrases. .

All of our juvenile birds are weaned to pellets, supplemented by a mixture of fresh food offered at least
three times weekly. Our Mixture includes raw carrot, sweet potato, kale, dandelion, corn, cheerios, cooked pasta, cooked
rice, whole wheat bread, and petamine supplement. Vegetables are chopped fine to approximate pellet size. Thawed
frozen vegetables work well too.
