The first birds we raised were Lovebirds. Peacefaced Lovebirds are suitable as a first bird.
Lovebirds are best kept singly in the largest cage affordable with plenty of toys available. Masked and Fisher Lovebirds
can also be great pets, but in our experience tend to be a little higher strung, but with any pet bird, proper and consistent
handling create the affectionate pet. Some lovebirds can learn to speak a few words or phrases.

Although the species is called the Peachfaced Lovebird (Agapornis roseicollis) we also breed whitefaced
mutations. These mutations will later develop a peach or orange crown while the cheek remains white. The dark
upper beak will fade to a buff color as the bird matures.
