MIDI Transcripts
 
On a couple occasions, I've come across good cartoon music that I can't find a recording or existing MIDI of, so I have pulled out my trusty MIDI keyboard and sequenced it myself. Nothing fancy, but I'll put it out there in case someone else is looking for it too. My setup was an SB Live with the bundled 8MB soundfont.
 
Wildfire - In the mid-80s, there was a cartoon that I never watched, but I did watch whatever came on before, so I would generally hear the opening theme before changing channels. I thought of it again a few years ago, found an old sound recording off VHS, and made the MIDI. Since it involved a particular soundfont setup, I'd recommend listening to my "official" MP3 recording of this MIDI. These are based on the show's original music by Jimmy Webb.

Ranma - Akane's Theme - In college, my roommates were watching an anime show called Ranma, and we spent a long time looking all over the web for hints on where we could find a certain piece of background music, which seems to be the only track missing from the full soundtracks. I was able to extract enough intact pieces of the music from an episode that I was able to construct this sound file, and then transcribed it into this MIDI.

He-Man and She-Ra Medley - Here's an early "pre-release" version (I'm calling it 0.5) of a MIDI medley of themes from the He-Man and She-Ra shows, by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy. I'll be adding more, and improving what's here, but you can have this version in the mean time. And due to surprisingly popular demand, here's an extended version of just the She-Ra theme as heard in the show's opening. Rainbow Brite Theme - New - By request! (hat-tip to rainbowbrite.net) Here's the disarmingly peppy opening theme to the show Rainbow Brite. I think I'll check myself into an asylum now after listening to the music as much as I just had to, to make this. And now... I also came across the theme song to the movie, which is arguably better than the show's. So I made a MIDI of that, too. If you don't have a good MIDI card, there is also an mp3 of how it sounds on my PC. Please give that one a listen so you know how I intended it to sound!

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu / The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi - Koi no Mikuru Densetsu MIDI or as an mp3. The theme to "Asahina Mikuru no Bouken" / "The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru", composed by Kou saki Sat oru. Another show with some great music. Or, here's just the refrain of the same song, perhaps for a ringtone.
