Regions of France visited: | Auvergne | Part of the Central Massif area of France. Home to a few Bavouset and Bavouzet's. Most of this region is off the tourist maps, therefore it is a great place to get away from the crowds and still see the incredibly beautiful French countryside. Click here. |
| Old Berry | The old name of Berry still holds to the heart of it inhabitants know as Berrichonnes, yet today the area is called Indre and Cher. Berry is home to the Bavouzet Family and to many of France's kings and nobelmen. It is a softly rolling countryside and scattered marshes which create great farmland and wildlife habitat. | Manche | Found along the western Norman coast and known also as the Carentian peninsula. Only a few pictures of the famous abbey of Mont Sainte Michel are found on these pages at present.Click here. | ||
| Normandy | The northwestern coastal region of France. Home to William the Conqueror, the Bayeux Tapestry which documents Williams defeat of the English, and the Côte de Nacre and Côte de Fleurie. The coast is now more commonly known as Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold and Sword beaches. These pictures center on Utah beach, and the countryside that was liberated by the 90th Division (Tough 'Ombres) and where my uncle Sgt. Earl Bavousett died near Prétot, France.Click here. | ||
| Ile de France region, home to Paris. Here are just a few photos of this grand city. We were taking it a bit easy, resting up before flying back home.Click here. | |||

| Regions of Italy visited: | The lake Como area of Italy is nice and cool. It is in the Southern Alps, in the Lombardia region. In June few tourists are visiting. Here we took a ferry up the long lake to Bellagio. We stayed in a nice hotel in Cernobbio near the southern end of the lake.Click here. | ||
| Our second area to visit was the Tuscan city of Siena. This is the rival city of Firenze. While here we tour the city, as well as the surrounding area. See the Chianti Tour for the surrounding area. I have also included some of our train images here. Click here for Siena. | |||
| We took a day to visit a few vineyards in the Chianti region north of Siena. Here are a few images from this little tour. Click here. | |||
