The RocDox began in 1989 when guitarist Dr. Jim Bedrick, an ophthalmologist with Mecklenburg Eye Associates, and drummer Tony
Purrazzella, an echocardiographer then at Presbyterian Hospital, met and decided to form the band after some initial jams.
They shared a common passion for classic rock music delivered with energy and musicianship. Their focus has been the faithful
recreation, both vocally and instrumentally, of the songs you know by heart. Tony and Jim have been performing with Jay, Rich
and Pat since the summer of 2000,and with Cheryl since early 2007. All agree this is the best group yet.

Tony Purrazzella is a rockin' drummmer, the heartbeat of the band (it's no small coincidence that he specializes in ultrasound
of the heart). He is also a high energy vocalist, singing lead and backup for our typical four part harmonies. His versatile
singing style fits in with anything we do, from Bryan Adams to the Righteous Brothers, but he is uncanny singing songs by
Billy Joel.

Lead guitarist Jim Bedrick, MD works hard to get the right sound for each song, typically choosing between four guitars
to put through his programmable Vox amp. He also contributes as lead vocalist on songs from the Beatles, Eric Clapton and
Motown, and adds harmonies on others.

Jay Hendler, MD is a very intense keyboardist. Perhaps this is due to his often spending the night caring for very sick folks
in the ICU at one of Presbyterian's Hospitals. So playing three keyboards (usually horns, piano and Hammond B3 organ) with
two hands at once is not overly challenging to him. Since he needs a break once in a while, we let him out to sing "Secret
Agent Man" to his cadre' of admiring fans.

Rich Meighan is a mechanical engineer specializing in high precision flowmeters and pumps used in industrial and marine applications.
When he is not traveling the world sharing his expertise, he is holding down the bottom end of the band with his 700 watt
bass rig and vintage Hofner Beatle bass. He also plays guitar and, since he is such a nice guy, he lets Jimi play one of his
cool basses with the band once in a while.

Pat Garvey is one of the lead singers of our little band. An executive box specialist in a packaging company by day, he transforms
by night into such legendary vocalists as Van Morrison, John Cougar Mellencamp, Greg Allman, Michael McDonald, John Fogerty,
and Wilson Picket. He puts the grits in the gravy!

Cheryl Zeigler is the newest member of the RocDox and our lead female vocalist. A banker by day, she becomes a true rock
and soul diva by night. Her resume is most impressive: she was one of the Marvelettes in the 80's, and has been a backup vocalist
on national tours with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks (solo), and Luther Vandross. Her renditions of songs by artists including
Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, and, of course, the Marvelettes
are truly outstanding.
