A long walk...
20 june 2009

This is Zach Bonner. He is walking from his house in Florida to the White House in Washington DC to help raise awareness for the problem of homeless children. A big mission and a long walk for an 11 year old!

We caught up with him north of Roxboro NC and walked with him for almost 3/4 of a mile. Getting the Robot to run along a road like this was interesting. Many drivers slowed down, some stopped, a few people even came out of their houses as we slowly went by. I hope the Robot helped Zach out a little!

This was the road and yes we went all the way up over that last hill in the picture!

Even over such a long distance run the batteries showed no sign of running down. A recharge did not take very long back at home either. I suspect that considerably smaller batteries could have been used!
