If you're interested in having custom rod building information provided to your local public or high school library, please consider one of the following methods of adding rod building related resource materials:

The field sports sections of most public and high school libraries are woefully outdated. With greater demand for a wider variety of informational resources today, most libraries are not able to update their fishing and hunting sections. As a result, books in those genres are old, worn and often of little interest to those who seek out information on the field sports crafts.

In discussions with several public libraries, I have learned that most libraries eagerly welcome the donation of funds or books intended for their field sports sections.

On Your Own...

Anyone can donate funds or books to their local public or high school libraries. First, call or visit your library and ask to speak to the person in charge of book acquisitions. Tell them that you wish to provide a custom rod building book for their field sports or crafts section. You will be informed if they will accept a particular title at that time. Most are happy to accept nearly any of the rod building books on our list (see bottom of next column).

For monetary donations, ask if you may donate funds for the express purpose of buying a specific book or books for their field sports or crafts section. Some will earmark your donation for your requested title. Others will use your donation as a general fund donation and purchase new books as those funds allow. Usually, it is better to inquire about the donation of a specific book rather than making a general fund donation.

Public high school libraries are also often eager to receive book donations. However, most also require that any book donations pass a review by the local school board in order to determine if they feel the content is appropriate for the students.

Always contact the person in charge of book acquisitions and ask about their specific proceedure for accepting book donations. With just a little effort, you can make sure that your book donation actually ends up on the facility's shelves.

Through Us...

RodMaker Magazine has arranged to purchase select rod buildng titles at greatly reduced pricing and make them available to public and high school libraries across the U.S. You may donate funds to purchase one of the books listed below, and have it donated to one of the libraries on our list.

If you would like to purchase a specific book, you may do so by including a notation with your donation. If you would like your book sent to a particular library, please include all contact information for the specific library including name, address and the complete contact information for the person in charge of acquiring books for that specific facility.

Make checks payable to RodMaker and mail to:

RodMaker Magazine
PO Box 1322
High Point, NC 27261

Within two weeks of receiving your donation, you will receive written confirmation along with the book title and library location where your book has been sent.

*If you prefer to purchase a specific book for a specific library facility, please contact us first for individual book pricing. General donations will be collected into a single fund and used as required to fullfill donations to library facilities of our choice.
