Tom Clark's Commnent on Markowitz's Rebuttal

You claim that Sokal's hoax was "intellectually lightweight", and I agree. That is why it's publication in Social Text is problematic. If the editors had fallen prey to a "brilliant" hoax, then we might more easily forgive their error.
