Reconstructing Michael Jackson - Close Readings of pop-works
Stranger in a Strange Land
Where there is no exaggeration there is no love,
and where there is no love there is no understanding.
It is only about things that do not interest one, that one
can give a really unbiased opinion; and this is no doubt the reason
why an unbiased opinion is always valueless.
Oscar Wilde
- This is a collection of critical analysis of Michael Jackson's cultural
productions. We'll dig into the possible meanings of performances, song lyrics, video
images, a white glove, perhaps, surgical masks, and lots more.
- We will be accepting responses to the pieces presented here for
publication on this site. We will not accept either hagiography nor
smut. Only serious (ly enjoyable!) efforts will be considered.
- DISCLAIMER: "The Neverland" should not be taken as any kind of editorial comment on Michael Jackson's personal conduct, whatever you believe it to be. I take no position here as to the notorious allegations. This site is interested in the meanings of some intriguing cultural artifacts - and nothing more or less than that.
