Jesse Robinson Callaway

Jesse Robinson Callaway was born 2 November 1844 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was the son of Elijah P Callaway and Frances Evett. He was recorded on the census of 1 June 1850 living in South Creek District, Beaufort County. He was enumerated as Jesse Callaway age 6 in the household of Elijah P Callaway. During the year 1863, Jesse Robinson Callaway enlisted in 1st Company I, 10th Regiment North Carolina State Troops, to serve in the armies of the Confederacy during the War Between the States. He married first Tabitha W Evett, daughter of Harvey Evett and Elisabeth Walker, in North Carolina. He married second Mary Anne Satterthwaite 8 April 1886 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. Their names were recorded as "Jesse R. Calloway and Mary A. Satterthwaite." He died 9 January 1911 in Richland Township, Beaufort County, North Carolina, at age 66. Jesse Robinson Callaway was buried in the Dublin Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Royal.
