William Riley Peed

William Riley Peed has an estimated birth date of 1825 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was the son of Treganey 'Gain' Peed and Nancy H (--?--). He married Mary H Purser, daughter of Jesse Purser and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Lane, between 1848 and 1849 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was recorded on the census of 1 June 1850 living in South Creek District, Beaufort County. He was enumerated as William R Peed age 24 in the household of Elizabeth 'Betsy' Lane. During the year 1861, William Riley Peed enlisted in Company B, 40th Regiment North Carolina Troops, to serve in the armies of the Confederacy during the War Between the States. Company B was known as McMillan Artillery. His death was estimated to be between 1871 and 1879 in Richland Township, Beaufort County, North Carolina.
