Joseph Burney Tingle

Joseph Burney Tingle was born 1812 in Craven County, North Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Tingle and Zilpha Cuthrell. He married first Julia Ann Daw 13 December 1836 in Craven County, North Carolina. Their names were recorded as "Joseph B. Tingle and Julia A. Daw." He married second Harriet Ellen Warren, daughter of Andrew 'Drew' Warren and Fanny Lewis, 25 December 1853 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. Their names were recorded as "I. B. Tingle and Ellen Warren." During the year 1861, Joseph Burney Tingle enlisted in Company D, 40th Regiment North Carolina Troops, to serve in the armies of the Confederacy during the War Between the States. Company D was known as Bay River Artillery and Gatlin Artillery. He died 18 July 1862 in Fort Fisher, New Hanover County, North Carolina.
