Redding G Tuten has an estimated birth date of 1843 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was the son of Redding Tuten and Mary B Delanie. During the year 1861, Redding enlisted in Company I, 4th Regiment North Carolina State Troops, to serve in the armies of the Confederacy during the War Between the States. Company I was known as the Pamlico Rifles. He died 3 February 1865 in Point Lookout Prison Camp, St Mary's County, Maryland. Redding G Tuten was buried in the Point Lookout Confederate Cemetery.
