Redding Roberson Tuten

Redding Roberson Tuten was born 30 June 1837 in Beaufort County, North Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Atkins Tuten and Theresa 'Resa' Jones. He was recorded on the census of 1 June 1850 living in Durham Creek District, Beaufort County. He was enumerated as Redding Tuten age 13 in the household of Thomas Atkins Tuten. During the year 1861, Redding Roberson Tuten enlisted in Company I, 4th Regiment North Carolina State Troops, to serve in the armies of the Confederacy during the War Between the States. Company I was known as the Pamlico Rifles. He died 30 July 1862 in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia, at age 25.
