Bau-Biologie is a German word which means "the Biology of Buildings". Here are the people who provide excellent certification programs in how to do environmental assessments. They have several program levels, including correspondence courses, seminars, and books. Anyone who is concerned with Earth's environment would do well to be in touch with this group, since they have the greatest range of practical answers found anywhere on this planet. My certification as an environmental building inspector comes through them.
Here is a delightful project, which involves putting together all the environmental and ecological resources of a community into a map. The first one to be published was New York City. Several other cities around the world are represented.
Books can be art forms in many unexpected ways. This is a great place for anyone interested in poetry, fiction, graphic arts, and bookbinding. Excellent classes are offered year-round in how to make chapbooks, innovative book arts pieces, and book repairs. They also sponsor fascinating exhibitions, some of which are documented on their web site.
If you ever need to look up any words, go here. Links to many dictionaries are included, and searches are easy and fast. In 1996, I put together the Tesla Dictionary of Advanced Research Terminology. Print copies are available elsewhere on this site, and an electronic copy has been placed here for world-wide reference.
