Going Ashore

We were given careful instructions on
how to dress to go ashore, how to enter
and leave the zodiacs, and how to behave
on shore. The staff emphasized safety. |

On landings, we stepped into 6 to 12
inches
of icy seawater, so the required
waterproof
pants and knee high rubber
boots were
essential.
