| In the land of Hanalei |
The adventure starts really when you drive out of the airport. If you are lucky enough to drive during
the daytime, almost every bit of the ride feels like you are driving through a national park. But you really know you've
arrived as you catch that incredible view of the Hanalei River Valley and taro fields from Princeville. You wind your way
down a scenic drive and cross the bridge over the Hanalei River into the quaint town of Hanalei (home of Puff the Magic Dragon).
Hanalei is by far the most charming and beautiful town on the island. It has many nice shops and restaurants,
and yet it still retains its hippyish new-age surfer charm. The crescent-shaped Hanalei Bay is renowned for its surf
and is great for swimming much of the year and you will want to take many long walks on its hard packed sandy beach.
Many a day you will be walking or swimming and look around to see a rainbow or maybe a double rainbow right before your eyes.
The Hanalei Valley setting is magical with the backdrop of the mountains and Bali Hai and the NaPali Coast in the distance.
And after a tropical rain you may see a "parade of waterfalls" coming down the mountain ridges one after another as you
drive into town.

| Wainiha Bridges |
After you pass through the town you wind around the bay and then on up high above the ocean and Lumahai Beach following
the narrow road over several (four to be exact) one lane bridges. Past the quaint little Wainiha General Store and The
End of the Rainbow shop and continue over the final two one car bridges, up, up Powerhouse Road into the
Wainiha Valley to power pole 16. You turn past the stand of tall yellow bamboo trees, down the rustic driveway and into your
temporary verdant paradise - you have arrived at 100 Shades of Green.
