Pizza Dough Recipe
- 1/2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp. olive or cooking oil
- 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 cups of flour
Dissolve yeast in warm water (110 degrees). Add sugar, salt, and
oil. Add 1/2 cup of flour, and beat until smooth. Stir in remaining
flour until dough cleans bowl (use wooden spoon). Knead 5 minutes.
Let rise 30 - 40 minutes. Punch down. Let rest 5 - 10 minutes.
Shape in to pizza pan or sheet.
Pizza stones work very well in oven.
For grilling pizzas:
Prepare a cookie sheet with lightly sprinkled corn meal. Lay shaped
pizza dough on cookie sheet and turn for corn meal to stick to both
sides. Remove dough from sheet and place dough on grill (low heat)
for 3 minutes. Remove pizza dough back on sheet, grilled side up.
Decorate pizza to taste. Place back on Grill, use upper rack if
possible, and cook until done (10 minutes).
