Saturn Sky Redline Vs "Similarly priced" Roadsters.
The chart below shows a feature comparison vs. cost between a fully loaded Saturn Sky Redline versus the base Honda s2000, BMW 3.0i and Nissan 350z Roadster. The fully loaded price of the Redline is $4000.00 to $5800.00 dollars less than the base of its competitors, I feel it is a fair comparison. For the purposes of this chart no indication was made if equipment was optional on any of the cars.
Even a quick review of the chart makes it pretty clear, that with the RedLine you get considerably more for quite a bit less. However, if things like a power top or decent trunk space are really important to you, then it may be worth the extra 4,000~6000 dollars extra for one of the other cars. Also, if you fully loaded the competition, I am sure feature wise they would clearly come out on top. However it would also price them up to ~10,000.00 more than the Redline.
With the lower price competition Miata not even close in power and the next level up an average of 5,000.00 more, it is clear that the Saturn Sky Redline and its sister the Pontiac Solstice GXP are in a class of their own, as powerfully, fully equipped roadsters that barely break the 30k price point.
