Want to take a driving Tour of the local area?

Below are five very nice driving tours around beautiful Nelson County:

1. The Great Agriculture Tour featuring apple orchards, beekeeping, a mushroom farm and the James River. This tour begins and ends at Oak Ridge. Total driving time is two hours. Click here for detailed directions for this tour.

 

2. Afton Mountain and Rockfish Valley Tour featuring Hilltop Berry Farm, Blue Ridge Parkway, McCormick's Pioneer Farm, the famous Cookie Lady of Afton, the Edible Landscape Nursery, and spectacular mountain scenery along the way. 3. Woodson's Mill, Peach and Apple Orchards Tour featuring the 200 year old Woodson's grinding Mill, a tour of several orchards one of which includes an antique farm tool museum. 4. Walton's Mountain Museum Tour features a tour of the museum (admission fee) and the New World Soapstone Company mill and the world's largest vein of soapstone. This tour begins and ends at Oak Ridge. Total driving time is 65 minutes. Click here for detailed directions for this tour.

 

5. Mountain Tour featuring spectacular Crabtree Falls, the Appalachian Trail and Wintergreen Resort. This tour begins and ends at Wintergreen so allow extra time to get up to Wintergreen.
