All about Drinking Water

The first priority for drinking water is to make sure it does not come out of an old stump hole!! For the safety and health of all rendezvous participants it is important that health department regulations are followed to the letter. The EPR owns fifteen (15) water containers which hold 425 gallons each. These containers must be handled carefully and kept clean and sanitized with chlorine bleach. Water that is purchased must be potable and handled carefully by a professional contractor.

For the 2000 EPR we have contracted with W. E. L., Inc of Concord, Virginia. Water will cost us $.045 per gallon plus a fee of $50.00 per hour while on site. The service schedule is as follows:
September 14th -- first initial filling of tanks
September 18th -- refill service
September 20th -- refill service
September 22nd -- refill service
September 23rd -- refill service
September 25th -- refill service
September 27th -- refill service
September 29th -- refill service (Last service date)

In addition to the above schedule we will have an 800 number to call if water demands are higher than we anticipated and they will come immediately to do unscheduled refills. In 1996 our water bill was about $2,500.00. If our projected participation is reached the water bill should be between $3,000.00 and $5,000.00.
