Commentary: I've seen lots of peregrines in the wild - mostly in coastal NJ. The ones I see here in AZ are generally much darker and quite a thrill. This is a juvenile bird of the Anatum form. I'd seen it in the middle of a sod field a week before, and was quite surprised to have it stay put on this utility wire while I cobbled together all my optics for this shot.
