Date: March 5, 2002
Equipment: Nikon N90S, Nikkor AF-S 300/2.8 & TC20E (= 600/5.6)
Film: Fujichrome Sensia 100
Exposure: aperture priority matrix metered, natural light
Scan: Minolta Dimage; modest cropping to correct tilt

Commentary: Taken at the same time and place as my series of the rare Yellow-billed Loon, this image shows how much different the widespread Common Loon looks. Note especially the size of the bill, its color, and the shape of the head.
